The IPL 2024 has entered its second half and the teams have started to shape up in the points table.
As we approach the business period in coming weeks, the IPL table looks delicately poised at the moment.

Rajasthan Royals have taken a headstart from others as they sit pretty on top with 16 points in 9 matches. Four other teams are on 10 points, intensifying the race for the playoffs.
The two bottom teams of last week Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings also secured crucial victories and it promises to be an intriguing upcoming week or so. Without further adieu, let's now have a look at the hits and flops from Week 5 of the Indian Premier League.
Marcus Stoinis scored his first career century against CSK to win a massive match for the Lucknow Super Giants. The Australian played a tremendous knock in the heat of Chennai in front of the CSK fans as LSG chased down 210 runs. Stoinis remained unbeaten on 124 runs in just 63 balls and took his team home.
Jonny Bairstow etched the Punjab dreams into reality as they chased down a record 262 runs against KKR on Friday (April 26). The English batter scored an unbeaten 108 off just 48 balls as they registered the historical victory. For Bairstow, it is a huge turnaround as the Englishman had previously scored only 96 runs across six innings.

Jake Fraser-McGurk has taken the IPL by storm and looks like an amazing acquisition for Delhi Capitals. The Australian scored a fantastic half-century against SRH. He scored 65 runs off just 18 balls but the Capitals lost the match. But then his winning contribution came against Mumbai Indians when he scored 84 runs off just 27 balls, hitting 11 fours and 6 sixes. This 22-year-old from Victoria is making a name and is tipped to be a star in the future.
The recent resurgence of Delhi Capitals sees them in the top half of the table. Delhi secured two crucial victories over Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians, which now has taken them level on points with second-placed KKR. The batting of Jake Fraser-McGurk has been a huge positive, while the bowling still needs to improve.
MI captain Hardik Pandya has another underwhelming week this time. The all-rounder saw his team lose twice, first against RR and then DC. Hardik batted moderately but his bowling was wayward as he got smacked across the grounds. Things are looking concerning for MI and their captain. Although Hardik seems to be smiling in each post-match presentation, the reality doesn't look that rosy.
Mohit Sharma joins the list because of his bowling against Delhi Capitals in the last match. The veteran has impressed this season but was taken to the cleaners by Rishabh Pant, where he conceded 31 runs in the final over. Mohit's spell of 0/73 in four overs is also the most expensive in IPL history.
Rohit Sharma had to suffer a poor week with the bat. Along with the awful results, Sharma scored only 14 runs in two matches in the week. He scored 6 runs against Rajasthan Royals, and then got dismissed for 8 against Delhi Capitals. The India captain will have to hit the form before the T20 World Cup in June.

Mumbai were starting to find some momentum, but that has all crashed after Week 5. With two defeats, they are now languishing at the 9th spot and have only 6 points after nine matches.
The Paltans have underwhelmed across the departments, especially their bowling which has been wayward. The form of Rohit Sharma has dipped this week. Although youngsters like Nehal Wadhera, Tilak Varma have done well, the lack of cohesion in the team is visible.
