IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders' home fixture against Rajasthan Royals, slated for April 17, in the Indian Premier League Season 2024 has been rescheduled by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday (April 2).
As per the latest update, the match between KKR and RR will now be held a day before i.e. April 16 in Kolkata due to Ram Navami, the next day. There were reports that the organisers would change the venue for the game from Eden Gardens to a different one. BCCI was deliberating on either relocating or rescheduling the match.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), KKR owners, and the broadcasters were informed about this potential decision by the BCCI and state administration.
"The fixture between Kolkata Knight Riders & Rajasthan Royals, which was earlier scheduled to take place on April 17, 2024 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata will now be played a day prior on April 16, 2024," said an official statement from the franchise.
Ram Navami - which falls on April 17 this year - is a Hindu festival widely celebrated in Kolkata and the Kolkata Police express uncertainty about ensuring adequate security arrangements for the match amidst the festive fervour. Consequently, the KKR vs. RR clash has seen a rescheduling.
