IPL 2024 Retention deadline day arrived with focus on the most biggest trade in Indian Premier League (IPL) history as star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya returned to Mumbai Indians on a day when franchises revealed their released and retained players list.
On Sunday (November 26), the 10 franchises announced their preliminary squads heading into the mini IPL 2024 auction, which is scheduled to take place on December 19 in Dubai.

Apart from Pandya, Mumbai Indians had to trade Australia all-rounder Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore in a cash only deal to boost their finances heading into the auction.
All teams have been handed a Rs 5 Crore increase, meaning their purse is Rs 100 Crore, but the final purse will depend on the retention and releases. There are several players, who could be released on the d-day for IPL retention ahead of season 17.
Andre Russell, Shardul Thakur also were the talking points along with the most expensive buy Sam Curran, who could have been put into auction again. Here is all the hiighlights from IPL Retention day:

Mumbai Indians have released Jofra Archer, Ramandeep Singh, Tristan Stubbs, Duan Jansen, Hrithik Shokeen, Raghav Goyal, Jhye Richardson, Riley Meredith, Chris Jordan, Sandeep Warrier.
Gujarat Titans have released Yash Dayal, KS Bharat, Shivam Mavi, Urvil Patel, Alzarri Joseph, Odean Smith, Dasun Shanaka, Pradeep Sangwan.
Gujarat Titans have retained their skipper Hardik Pandya after speculation of the star all-rounder's return to Mumbai Indians. However, the player trade window reportedly runs until a month before the season starts.
Lucknow Super Giants have released Jaydev Unadkat, Karun Nair, Daniel Sams, Manan Vohra, Swapnil Singh, Karan Sharma, Suryansh Shegde, Arpit Guleria.
Sunrisers Hyderabad release the likes of Harry Brook, Samarth Vyas, Kartik Tyagi, Vivrant Sharma, Akeal Hosein, Adil Rashid.
KKR have released Shardul Thakur, Shakib Al Hasan, N Jagadeesan, Litton Das, Aarya Desai, David Wiese, Mandeep Singh, Kulwant Khejroliya, Lockie Ferguson, Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee, Johnson Charles.
Punjab Kings have released Shahrukh Khan, Baltej Singh, Mohit Rathee, Raj Angad Bawa and Bhanuka Rajapaksa.
Royals have released Jason Holder, Obed McCoy, KM Asif, Abdul Basith, Akash Vasisht, Kuldip Yadav, Murugan Ashwin, KC Cariappa and Joe Root.
Delhi Capitals has released Chetan Sakariya, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Ripal Patel, Aman Khan, Priyam Garg, Manish Pandey, Sarfaraz Khan, Mustafizur Rahman, Rilee Roussow, Rovman Powell & Phil Salt.
CSK have officially released Dwaine Pretorius, Sisanda Magala, Kyle Jamieson, Ben Stokes, K Bhagath Varma, Akash Singh, Ambati Rayudu, Subhranshu Senapati.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have revealed at what time they will announce their released and retained players list. As it stands, Shahbaz Ahmed has been traded to Sunrisers Hyderabad in exchange for Mayank Dagar.

According to reports, Delhi Capitals havehave released four overseas players - Mustafizur Rahman, Rilee Roussow, Rovman Powell and Phil Salt in addition to Manish Pandey and Sarfaraz Khan.
