Rajasthan Royals' star leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, on Wednesday (April 10) completed a landmark milestone in his Indian Premier League (IPL) career as he completed 150 matches in the tournament.
The Haryana cricketer marked the momentous occasion in the IPL 2024 match between RR and Gujarat Titans at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Chahal, who stands as one of the most distinguished performers in IPL history, also holds the title of the highest wicket-taker in the premier T20 competition.

After he achieved the milestone in his illustrious career, the right-arm wrist-spinner received a message on social media from a special person, her wife Dhanashree Verma.
Rajasthan Royals took to their handle on X in which Verma - who is a model and dancer - shared a heartwarming video message for her husband and congratulated him for scaling yet another mountain in his career.
Dressed in Pink, Dhanashree said, "Hey Yuzi, congratulations on your 150th IPL match today. I have said this before and I'll say this today as well. Congratulations. We are super proud of you, and the way you have contributed all these years, to your previous teams and now to RR, I am sure even they are super proud of how you play your game and every time you come back with a bang. We all love you for that.
"Whenever the match is under pressure, you are just one bowler who comes and takes a wicket. So Yuzi, just be who you are, and believe in your craft and your skill set. We all are there to support you always."
Chahal's journey in the IPL began back in 2013 when he made his debut for the Mumbai Indians. However, it was with the Royal Challengers Bangalore from 2014 to 2021 that he truly made his mark. In 2022, Rajasthan Royals acquired his services for Rs. 6.5 crore in the auction, a move that has proven to be beneficial for the franchise.
Known for his prowess in the middle overs, Chahal has been instrumental in both restricting the flow of runs and claiming crucial wickets. As he enters his 150th IPL game, his stats speak volumes about his impact on the game. With 195 scalps to his name at an average of 21.26 and an economy rate of 7.64, Chahal is not only a wicket-taker but also a miserly bowler.
Last year, Chahal surpassed Dwayne Bravo to become the highest wicket-taker in IPL history. With six four-wicket hauls and a solitary fifer against the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022, along with a hat-trick in the same match, Chahal's bowling exploits have been nothing short of extraordinary.
His stint with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) saw him claim 139 wickets in 113 games, with no other bowler managing to take 100 or more wickets for the franchise. He further proved his dominance with the ball for Rajasthan Royals and made an immediate impact. In his debut season with RR in 2022, he clinched the purple cap with 27 wickets, showcasing his immense value to the team.
Even in the current season, Chahal continues to shine bright, with eight wickets to his name in four matches for Rajasthan Royals. His feat of becoming the second-fastest bowler to reach 150 wickets in the IPL, achieving the milestone in 118 innings, further cements his status as one of the premier spinners in the league.
