Delhi Capitals have signed Bangladesh's seasoned left-arm pacer, Mustafizur Rahman, as a replacement for Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season.
The franchise secured Rahman's services for Rs 6 crore, following Fraser-McGurk's decision to withdraw from the tournament due to personal reasons.

Fraser-McGurk had been a standout performer for the Capitals, amassing 330 runs in nine matches at an impressive strike rate of 234.04 during the 2024 season. But the Australian has failed to live up to the expectations in IPL 2025.
Mustafizur Rahman brings a wealth of experience to the Delhi Capitals. Having previously represented the franchise in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, he has played 57 IPL matches, claiming 61 wickets at an economy rate of 8.14. Internationally, Rahman has featured in 106 T20Is for Bangladesh, securing 132 wickets, and has built a reputation for his ability to deliver under pressure in various phases of the game.
This acquisition aligns with the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) recent directive permitting franchises to sign temporary replacements for foreign players unavailable due to personal reasons or national commitments. However, these temporary replacements will not be eligible for retention in the subsequent season and must re-enter the player auction for IPL 2026.
With the acquisition, Mustafizur also becomes the first Bangladeshi player to play in the IPL 2025 season. The Capitals are currently 5th in the points table with 13 points in 11 matches. They will resume their campaign with a match against Gujarat Titans on May 18.
