Star England batsman, Jos Buttler, once again established himself as one of the greatest overseas batters in the IPL by delivering yet another exceptional unbeaten century at the iconic Eden Gardens on Tuesday (April 16).
With his belligerent knock, Buttler - who is also one of the most versatile batters in the competition as he constructs his innings as per the demand of the situation - guided his team Rajasthan Royals to a thrilling two-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in a nail-biting encounter that went down to the wire.

Buttler, who recorded his second century of the IPL 2024 season, demonstrated a batting masterclass of the highest calibre, nearly single-handedly steering Rajasthan Royals to a successful run chase.
His unbeaten knock of 107 runs off 60 balls anchored the innings as Rajasthan Royals achieved the joint-highest target in the competition's history. Responding to KKR's formidable total of 223 runs, RR reached 224 for the loss of 8 wickets, with Buttler sealing the victory for the Pink Army by scoring the winning run on the final ball of the game.
This remarkable feat by RR mirrored their previous accomplishment of chasing down a target of 224 against Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2020 at Sharjah, establishing a record for the highest successful run chase in IPL history.
Both of Buttler's centuries in this IPL season have come in successful run chases, with his unbeaten 100 off 58 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) earlier in Jaipur being equally noteworthy. With that century at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the aggressive right-handed batsman from England eclipsed Virat Kohli's ton and showcased his remarkable ability to anchor the innings under pressure.
Buttler's century against KKR marked his seventh century in the IPL, surpassing the legendary Chris Gayle, who has six IPL hundred, and placing him second only to Virat Kohli, who holds the record with eight IPL centuries.

Buttler's innings against KKR, which comprised 9 fours and 6 sixes, stood out as one of the finest in IPL history, characterised by his calm composure and aggressive approach despite losing partners at the other end.
"Keep believing, that was the real key today. I was struggling a bit for rhythm. At times you feel frustrated or you are questioning yourself. I tell myself it's okay, keep going, you'll get your rhythm back and try to stay calm.
"There's been plenty of times throughout the IPL, you've seen crazy things happen. Guys like Dhoni and Kohli, the way they stay till the end and keep believing and I tried to do the same," Buttler said at the post-match presentation after collecting the player of the match award.
