In a captivating showdown at the ICL Sankar Nagar Cricket Ground in Tirunelveli, Jeppiaar MHSS Chennai emerged victorious in the Junior Super Kings 2023-24 tournament, edging out Sri Ramakrishna MHSS Coimbatore by a mere one run.
The final, held amidst intense anticipation, showcased skill, determination, and nerve-wracking moments, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats until the last ball was bowled.

The showdown saw Jeppiaar MHSS Chennai setting a target of 137 runs, bowled out in 17.1 overs, with standout performances from G Dominic Kishor, who contributed 28 runs. However, Sri Ramakrishna MHSS Coimbatore put up a valiant fight, coming close to the target with a total of 136/9 in their allotted 20 overs.
Despite notable efforts from Harish Raghav and Kaushik Babu, it was Sarvajith Srinivasan of Jeppiaar MHSS Chennai who stole the spotlight with his exceptional bowling performance, claiming four wickets for 32 runs, ultimately securing victory for his team by the narrowest of margins.
The electrifying atmosphere was further enhanced by the presence of esteemed guests, including India A and Tamil Nadu cricketer Aswin Crist, who graced the closing ceremony and shared inspiring words with the young players.
Also in attendance were Mr. Louis Mariano, Director of Cricket at Super Kings Academy, Mr. Senthil Kumar, Regional Sales Manager of Equitas Bank, and Christopher Donald, Branch Manager of Freyer International, who added to the prestigious occasion.
Special awards were presented to standout performers, with Sarvajith Raagv Srinivasan of Jeppiaar MHSS named Player of the Final for his match-winning bowling display.
Other accolades included Best Batter awarded to R Saai Siddharth of Sri Ramakrishna MHSS, Best Bowler to Karthik Rahul K also from Sri Ramakrishna MHSS, and Player of the Tournament bestowed upon BM Prasanna, also from Sri Ramakrishna MHSS, recognising their exceptional contributions throughout the tournament.
Junior Super Kings, initiated by Chennai Super Kings, has evolved into a prominent inter-school T20 championship since its inception in 2012. What started as a 32-team tournament confined to Chennai has now expanded across multiple districts of Tamil Nadu, attracting participation from over 100 schools representing 21 districts in the 2023-24 edition.
The tournament's reach has extended beyond Tamil Nadu, welcoming teams from Goa, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka, reflecting its growing stature and impact on grassroots cricket development.
Past editions of Junior Super Kings have seen the participation of budding talents who have later made their mark in professional cricket, including Sai Sudharsan, Washington Sundar, and Shahrukh Khan during their school days.
