Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday (February 22) tried his hands at the cricket bat and also spend some time with former India captains Kapil Dev and Mohammad Azharuddin.

New Delhi, Feb 22: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday (February 22) tried his hands at the cricket bat and also spend some time with former India captains Kapil Dev and Mohammad Azharuddin.

Trudeau, who is on a week-long official visit to India, arrived in the national capital and met with two of India's legendary cricketers. He will be meeting the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (February 23).

Trudeau and his family visited a school, where he, wearing Cricket Canada jersey took part in a cricket event.

The Prime Minister also met with Cricket Canada president Ranjit Saini, signed a bat wishing Cricket Canada luck with its Global T20 venture, and watched his son try some batting.

Kapil and Azhar were also seen enjoying the company of the Canadian Prime Minister and gave some tips to the young kids. Cricket is very popular in Canada as well.

Trudeau arrived in India last week and has been visiting several cities ever since with his wife and three kids. The first citizen of Canada started his tour by visiting the Taj Mahal followed by Sabarmati Ashram in Gandhinagar. Trudeau was in the holy city of Amritsar on Wednesday where he visited the iconic Golden Temple to pay his homage at the most sacred Sikh pilgrimage.
