As Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Delhi Capitals in an important IPL 2024 match, the question remains on the selection process of the Knight Riders.
It was a damaging defeat for KKR in the last match when they were beaten by Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens. Even 261 runs were not enough as PBKS chased it down in a canter to put misery on the KKR team in front of their home supporters.

As they play DC today (Monday, April 29), the obvious question is on their team selection. KKR dropped Mitchell Starc in the last match after his poor outings but the replacement Dushmantha Chameera conceded 48 runs in three overs. Also Nitish Rana has been missing almost the whole season due to his injury and it is to be seen if he comes back.
Nitish Rana has been out of the KKR side since the very first match in the IPL 2024 season for KKR. The Indian batter's hand injury came in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The southpaw has been left out of the squad since then. It is unclear whether Rana is fit to play for the Knight Riders.
Rana was replaced by youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi who has done pretty decently. The 18-year-old has scored 118 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 161 so far.
Mitchell Starc was given a break in the last match against Punjab. The explanation from KKR was that Starc cut his finger against RCB and it was not a serious injury. The Australian bowler was seen carrying drinks on the sidelines, which indicates he was dropped from the team. Although the situation is unclear, the left-arm pacer is likely to return to the first team against DC today. After Chameera's poor outing in the last match, KKR would bank on Starc to come back fresh after a break.
