Lowest Totals of all 10 IPL Teams: Gujarat Titans post their lowest score against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024

Gujarat Titans touched a low in the IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday (April 17) as they were dismissed for a paltry 89 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

This is the lowest-ever total for the Ahmedabad-based franchise in their IPL journey. DC pacer Mukesh Kumar was the most successful bowler with figures of 3/14, while Ishant Sharma (2/8) and Tristan Stubbs (2/11) picked up two wickets apiece.

Lowest IPL Team Scores

In the previous year, against the same opponent and at the same venue, GT managed a slightly higher total of 125/6, indicating a recurring struggle against DC. Additionally, their encounters with Lucknow Super Giants have also posed difficulties, with GT posting totals of 130 and 135/6 in 2024 and 2023, respectively.

The IPL has witnessed some unforgettable moments over the years, from towering sixes to breathtaking run chases. However, amidst the high-scoring encounters, there have also been instances where teams have found themselves on the receiving end of low totals that have left fans stunned.

Let's take a look at all 10 present IPL teams and their lowest scores:

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) - 49 vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR): In a match against Kolkata Knight Riders, RCB suffered a colossal collapse, managing to score a mere 49 runs in the run chase of 132 in IPL 2017. This dismal performance, a humiliating 82-run defeat, remains etched in the memory of RCB fans. It is the lowest total in the IPL history from a franchise.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) - 58 vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB): RR's batting woes were exposed in the match against RCB during IPL 2009, held in South Africa. Enduring a dismal outing with the bat, RR posted a paltry total of 58 runs in pursuit of 134. It was a forgettable performance for the Royals, who failed to withstand the onslaught from the RCB bowlers and lost the game by 75 runs.

Delhi Capitals (DC) - 66 vs Mumbai Indians (MI): DC's batting lineup faltered against the might of the Mumbai Indians bowling attack in the big run chase of 213. DC, known as Delhi Daredevils in 2017 were bundled out for a meagre total of 66 runs. It was a day to forget for DC as they succumbed to a mammoth 146-run defeat.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) - 67 vs Mumbai Indians (MI): In the IPL 2008 match against MI, KKR suffered a batting collapse of epic proportions, as the Sourav Ganguly-led side could only manage to score just 67 runs in 15.2 overs. It was a dismal display from the KKR batsmen, who struggled to cope with the relentless MI bowling attack, led by Shaun Pollock. MI chased down the target in 5.3 overs.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) - 73 vs Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS): PBKS, who were called Kings XI Punjab back then, found themselves in dire straits when they faced off against Rising Pune Supergiant (now defunct) in IPL 2017. KXIP could only muster a total of only 73 runs in 15.3 overs. Axar Patel (22 off 20) was the top-scorer for KXIP. It was a disappointing performance from the Mohali-based franchise as RPS chased down the target in 12 overs for the loss of one wicket.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) - 79 vs Mumbai Indians (MI): CSK's batting lineup faltered against MI in IPL 2013 when they crumbled under the pressure to score only 79 runs in 15.2 overs. It was a rare off-day for the CSK batsmen, who failed to fire against the formidable MI bowling attack comprising Mitchell Johnson, Lasith Malinga, Harbhajan Singh and Pragyan Ojha.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) - 82 vs Gujarat Titans (GT): In the IPL 2022 match against GT, LSG could only muster a total of 82 runs in the run chase of 145. KL Rahul-led LSG lost the game by 62 runs as they were bundled out inside 13.5 overs.

Mumbai Indians (MI) - 87 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH): Even the mighty MI faced a batting debacle against SRH in their IPL 2018 league game. MI's lowest total of 87 was registered in a low-scoring run chase of 119. MI lost the game by 31 runs.

Gujarat Titans (GT) - 89 vs Delhi Capitals (DC): In the IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals, Shubman Gill-led GT faced a tough challenge from the opposition bowlers at home. Put in to bat first, they could only manage to score only 89 runs. It was a disappointing performance from GT as they lost the game by 6 wickets.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) - 96 vs Mumbai Indians (MI): SRH's lowest score in the tournament's history came in IPL 2019 at Hyderabad. In response to Mumbai's 136/7, the SRH batting lineup faltered, resulting in a meagre total of 96 runs. The loss of 40 runs in the match was a forgettable outing for SRH.
