David Miller and Wanindu Hasaranga have been dominating the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 with their exceptional performances. These talented cricketers are now using their skills to help young players improve through the IPG Pro Tip initiative, organized by IPG Group, the league's rights holders.
As part of the "Pro Tip" campaign, star LPL cricketers will share their cricketing knowledge with aspiring young players from all over Sri Lanka. These youngsters are submitting recorded videos asking for advice on overcoming various challenges they face during matches.

Miller is renowned for his powerful pull shots, which often trouble bowlers in international cricket. He has successfully executed this shot in LPL 2023 while representing Jaffna Kings.
Explaining his technique, Miller said, "The fuller ball is the most dangerous for me. So, I position myself accordingly and when I spot a shorter ball, I align myself to play it down and gain control over its speed and bounce. With my bottom hand, I extend the bat fully as if I'm wielding a tennis racket and aiming for the far right corner."
Anil Mohan Sankhdhar, Founder and CEO of IPG Group stated that they aim to give back to the game through this initiative. He believes that connecting young aspiring cricketers with their idols will inspire them to dream big and work relentlessly towards achieving those dreams.
Hasaranga shared his secret behind bowling successful googly deliveries that have earned him numerous wickets in LPL 2023. He explained, "To bowl a googly effectively, I focus on my grip and aim to pitch the ball in line with the wickets. This increases my chances of getting an LBW or clean bowled dismissal," said Hasaranga.
He further elaborated on his strategy saying, "If you observe my games closely, you'll notice how I pitch the googly strategically to prevent batters from playing a stroke. I ensure that the ball doesn't land too close to them while maintaining its trajectory in line with the stumps."
IPG Group plans to involve other top cricketers such as Dasun Shanaka, captain of Galle Titans, and Babar Azam in promoting and sharing their cricketing knowledge with young Sri Lankan cricketers.
