LSG vs CSK IPL 2023 Weather Updates: Play in match number 45 of IPL 2023 between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow was stopped due to rain.
The match was stopped in the 19.2 overs of the first innings batting by Lucknow Super Giants as the hosts reached 125/7. Ayush Badoni was unbeaten on 59 off 33 balls when the skies opened up in Lucknow.

Badoni - who walked into the middle at number 5 - batted extremely well and applied himself on a tricky Lucknow surface and took his team to a decent total. The fifty came under fighting conditions for LSG and helped their team post a good score on the board.
Earlier in the day, the toss for the match has been delayed due to a shower which left the outfield wet and the covers have been put on the ground to prevent the pitch and outfield from getting wet.
The weather updates for today in Lucknow predict overcast conditions all through the match as the skies will be filled with intermittent clouds all afternoon. The city and the neighbouring regions have been witnessing slight rainfall for the past few days and today isn't different.
As per Accuweather, there is a 20 per cent chance of rain between 4 to 5 pm but it will go up to 25 per cent by 6 pm. By 7 pm the chances of rain will increase to 42 per cent. However, the cloud cover will be more than 50 per cent throughout the match. There is a forecast of rain between 8 and 9 PM tonight.
LSG are hosting CSK for the first time on their home ground and as has been the case with all CSK games, there will be no dearth of support for the Yellow Brigade due to MS Dhoni's presence.
LSG, on the other hand, will be missing the services of their skipper KL Rahul - who suffered a hamstring injury against RCB. Krunal Pandya will be leading LSG today. However, there is doubt over the availability of Rahul for the remainder of the season.
Former Australia cricket Aaron Finch and former New Zealand cricketer Danny Morrison gave the pitch report ahead of the match. Both LSG and CSK are coming on the back of defeats in their last games and will be aiming to return to winning ways.
"Only 61 meters on one side, the other side is 75 meters. Downtown is 78 meters. The pitch is very patchy, there is quite a lot of green grass on it compared to what we've seen in the past. But is very dry underneath."
"Some plate cracking there. Don't expect this wicket to play with much bounce in it. Won't be a lot of bounce. Will still favour the spin," they said.
The cut-off timing for the match is 7:28 pm which means the overs will start getting deducted if the play doesn't start. The match will be called off if it doesn't start by 7:50 pm.
If the match is washed out, the points between the two teams will be shared and CSK and LSG - both of whom have 10 points in nine games - will have 11 points. They will both go to the second and third spots respectively.
As LSG have a better net run rate than CSK, Super Giants will be ahead of the Super Kings in the points table in 10 games and as the league stage approaches its end, the one extra point will keep them in good stead.
