LSG vs MI IPL 2024: Will Mayank Yadav Play Today against Mumbai Indians?

Lucknow Super Giants are up against Mumbai Indians in a crucial IPL 2024 match today (Tuesday, April 30) at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium.

LSG's pace sensation Mayank Yadav has been missing due to an injury. His last game was on April 7 against Gujarat Titans in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Since then, he has been recovering from an injury.

Mayank has enthralled the fans and the experts in this IPL 2024 with his frightening pace. The youngster has clocked over 150 kph regularly, but the biggest point of his bowling has been the accuracy with his electric pace. The speedster was also tipped to be part of the India squad for the T20 World Cup but cooled down after his injury.

Throughout the ongoing IPL season, Mayank has played three games and claimed six wickets - three against both Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). His performance was crucial in LSG's victories, especially against PBKS where his intervention halted their chase of 200 runs.

The wickets of Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, and Jitesh Sharma turned the game in LSG's favor. Similarly, his efforts against RCB were key in their inability to chase a target of 182, where he took down Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Rajat Patidar, and influenced the run-out of Faf du Plessis.

After his injury in the match against GT, Lucknow have missed the services of the pace sensation. Although Yash Thakur, Mohsin Khan have done moderately fine, the raw pace combined with the pinpoint accuracy of Mayank has been a major void in the LSG ranks.

Ahead of the match, there is hope for LSG who are looking forward to welcoming Mayank Yadav back in the lineup.

Their bowling coach Morne Morkel reportedly confirmed the availability of the youngster for today's match against Mumbai Indians.

"Mayank is fit. He's passed all his fitness tests. Very excited to probably have him back and in the playing potential XII for tomorrow," said Morkel, LSG's bowling coach.

Mayank Yadav started to bowl in the nets last week and now he is finally ready to force terror into the batters' minds again. It will come as a massive boost for the Super Giants who will be ecstatic with the return of their premium speedster.
