We are back for the chase! The umpires are out in the middle and so are the players of Lyca Kovai Kings. It will be the duo of Amith Sathvik and Tushar Raheja to open the innings for IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. K Deeban Lingesh will get things underway with the ball. Let's go...
... The Run Chase ...
Tiruppur with the advantage - Plenty of starts in the top order for Lyca Kovai Kings, but no one could really get going. Balasubramaniam Sachin and Andre Siddarth did get into the 30s but threw their wickets away and skipper Shahrukh Khan couldn't conjure up a late comeback either. Sai Kishore on the other hand marshalled his troops well and was miserly himself. The onus is now on the Tiruppur openers to break the back of the chase early on. However, if Kovai pick up early wickets, this could turn into a real close contest. Stay tuned for the chase.
Middling total on the board - The Kovai Kings have huffed and puffed and reached a total of 166, which isn't anything great, but it is still very defendable. IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans will be the more pleased side at the break, having closed out the innings well and will be eyeing up another win.
A direct hit and Deeban was out by miles, but the fielder misses and the batter sneaks in a single. Hard length over off, K Deeban Lingesh backs away and hits it down to extra cover for a single. Lyca Kovai Kings end with 166/8 on the board.
SIX! Muscled away! Dug in well short and angled across off, K Deeban Lingesh hangs deep and drags the pull over deep square leg or a biggie.
1 run, that is lofted away for a single.
G Kishoor is in next.
OUT! CAUGHT! Taken on the second attempt by Amith Sathvik. The slower bumper is doing the work nicely for Tiruppur at the death. Dug in shorter and outside off by Ragupathy Silambarasan. Manav Parakh is into the shot early and just checks the shot, chipping it high towards mid off. Sathvik comes in from the deep and juggles it a bit before pouching it.
No run. Swing and a miss! The batter swings hard at that one but does not connect.
FOUR! Streaky, but will do nicely for Parakh and the Kovai Kings. Banged in well short and around off, angling in. Parakh goes after it and gets a top edge that goes over the infield and trickles away into the fine leg fence.
No run, the batter has just blocked that from the crease.
Wide! This is way too short and outside the off stump. Left alone by the batter.
Wide! The batter lets the ball go outside off stump.
K Deeban Lingesh walks out to bat next.
OUT! CAUGHT! That's a soft dismissal, and after a bit of cat-and-mouse, T Natarajan does get the better of Shahrukh Khan. Another slower bumper, in and around off, angling away. Khan has to reach for it and ends up just jabbing it towards short third. Ragupathy Silambarasan takes a simple catch lunging ahead and the Kovai skipper has to walk back.
No run, beaten! Lovely bowling as the batter is defeated all ends up.
2 runs, the pull shot comes into play. Two runs taken.
Not where he intended that to go. Banged in short again, at the batter, Shahrukh Khan gets the pull off the top edge and down to fine leg for a couple of runs. The 150 is now up for Kovai Kings.
FOUR! The slower bumper again, too predictable from the bowler. Dug in short and outside off, Shahrukh Khan scythes it over the point region and picks up a boundary.
1 run, that is pushed away for a single.
FOUR! Nicely done. A slower bumper, angled outside off. Shahrukh Khan gets on his toes and top-edges it over short third for a boundary.
PUT DOWN! Uthirasamy Sasidev got to the ball a bit too quickly there. Pitched fuller and outside off, Manav Parakh goes after it and slices it high to the right of deep point. Saqsidev hurls acroiss and looks to take a low running catch but the ball hits the palms hard and pops out. Single taken.
No run. Swing and a miss! The batter swings hard at that one but does not connect.
No run, beaten! Lovely bowling as the batter is defeated all ends up.
FOUR! That's flown off the bat. Length ball outside off, Manav Parakh gets forward and throws his hands at it, hammering it to the left of the deep point fielder for a boundary.
Ragupathy Silambarasan is back into the attack.
No run, the batter is not interested in playing at that.
Didn't seem all that high, but it is given as a wide and Sai Kishore has taken the review for a wide not given. Another pace-off delivery, dug in short and around off. Khan looks to wait back and dab it down but misses. The third umpire has a look. It is well within the wide guideline outside the off stump and is also under the head height of the batter. It is changed to a fair delivery.
1 run, the batter goes back in the crease and flicks it away through square leg for a single.

The Presentation ceremony...
The reigning champions roar - A third win on the bounce for IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans and they keep climbing up the table, showcasing their grit and resilience. As for Lyca Kovai Kings, it is a second straight defeat and they will hope to bounce back stronger. Chasing a middling total, Tiruppur lost the talismanic Tushar Raheja early but his opening partner Amith Sathvik struck another half century. The spinner of Kovai Kings did well to keep chipping in with the wickets but S Mohamed Ali and Mathivannan M added an unbeaten 63-run stand to take Tiruppur over the line with 2 overs to spare.
A close shave - IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans seemed to be in control after that first innings and then Amith Sathvik broke the back of the chase, but a plethora of wickets made things interesting. Lyca Kovai Kings really felt they were in the game, but the 7th wicket partnership was a telling one.
FOUR! It's all done, S Mohamed Ali finishes things off in style, and IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans win by 4 wickets. This is pitched fuller at the stumps, S Mohamed Ali clears the front leg and hammers it straight down the ground for a boundary.
FOUR! Just one hit away now. Dug in short again, S Mohamed Ali rocks back and cracks a pull behind square leg for a boundary.
No run, that is punched off the back foot but straight to the fielder.
SIX! Flat-batted, and that should be the telling blow. Fractionally shorter over middle, S Mohamed Ali hangs back and just swings it off the hips and behind square leg for a maximum. The 50-run stand is also up between these two. Just 8 needed now off 15 balls.
Wide! Beaten! Lovely bowling as the batter is defeated all ends up.
No run, that is a cracking pull off the back foot, but for no run.
On a hard length, slanted into the legs. Mathivannan M misses the flick and the ball brushes the pads rolling down to fine leg for a leg bye.

No run, the batter goes back in the crease to flick but cannot find the gap.

1 run, that is just a mere push for a run.
Full ball angled down leg, Mathivannan M sits down to sweep but gets it off the pads. The ball trickles to short fine leg and a leg bye is taken. Hang on, there's a review for a wide from the batter. The UltraEdge rolls in and shows that there's a clear deflection off the gloves. It is changed to a run from leg bye.
No run, just a mere push. But no space for a run.
1 run, there comes the broom and the ball is swept away for a run.
Close but not close enough. Very full, darted into the pads. S Mohamed Ali gets pegged back and gets an inside edge onto the boot. The ball rolls away down to backward point and the batters set up for the single. The fielder scores a direct hit at the keeper's end, and replays confirm that Mathivannan M is just in.
Floated up, Mathivannan M falls over as he looks to reverse sweep and gets it towards short third. The fielder dives to his left and makes a half stop, keeping down to a single.
No run, just a mere push. But no space for a run.
1 run, that is pushed away for a single.
Oh, that could have been catastrophic for Tiruppur. Flatter one darted into the pads, S Mohamed Ali fails to flick it away. The ball deflects off the pads to the leg side and the non-striker sets off for the run. The keeper gets to it in a flash and he scampers back.
a single to end, and 15 runs come off the over. Short and outside off, slapped away to deep point for a run more.
