Lucknow Super Giants speed sensation Mayank Yadav was forced off the field after bowling just one over in the victory over Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024 match 21 at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium in Lucknow during the weekend.
Mayank's bowling is much-anticipated by fans as the quick from Delhi was hitting 150 kmph consistently. On his debut match, the LSG speedster bowled the quickest ball of the ongoing season when he clocked 155.8kmph.

A game later, the 21-year-old broke his own record and bowled the fourth fastest delivery in IPL history by touching 156.7kmph. He claimed figures of 3 for 27 against Punjab Kings and 3 for 14 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, bagging the man of the match award in both matches.
Mayank's ability to bowl at high speeds on good line and length earned a lot of interest among the cricketing fraternity. But in the GT clash, Mayank looked a little off, barely able to touch 140 kmph and was hit for three boundaries.
However, it was later revealed that the pacer was not a 100 percent fit for the game against GT. LSG CEO Colonel Vinod Bisht gave a Mayank Yadav injury update and what exactly was the issue for the pacer to leave the field.
"Mayank felt soreness in the lower abdominal area and as a precaution, we are managing his workload over the next week. We hope to see him soon in the field," Vinod Bisht said in an official statement.
Going by the above statement by Bisht, it's highly unlikely that Mayank returns to action against Delhi Capitals on Friday (April 12) in Lucknow as LSG want to manage his workload over the next week as matches take place within a space of a few days.
If Mayank does miss the DC game, there is a good chance he could be available for the away trip to Kolkata to face Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday (April 14). LSG will be cautious with how they use the pacer as he missed the entire season last year due to a different injury.
Yash Thakur stepped up in a big way to fill the void in the clash against GT with a five-wicket haul that also saw him bag the player of the match award as LSG defended 163 at home.
