Mayank Yadav reveals suggestions from Delhi teammates Ishant Sharma and Navdeep Saini after grand arrival in IPL

By MyKhel Staff

Mayank Yadav, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer, who has taken the IPL 2024 by storm with his speed in accuracy, has revealed suggestions form his Delhi teammates Ishant Sharma and Navdeep Saini.

Mayank Yadav picked three wickets and derailed Royal Challengers Bengaluru's batting unit at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday, April. The wickets of Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green helped him earn his second successive Man of the Match awards.

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) became the first team to bowl their opponents out in the TATA IPL 2024, as they defeated the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 28 runs.

Lucknow's 182-run target stood strong as RCB lost all their wickets after putting up 153 runs on the scoreboard. JioCinema IPL expert Eoin Morgan discussed the incredible rise of speedster Mayank Yadav (3/14), who also spoke exclusively on Match Centre Live.

Mayank Yadav spoke exclusively to JioCinema on whether he cares about breaking speed records. He said he cares for his speed but picking wickets is his main focus while playing a match.

"My attention isn't on speed as much as it is on taking wickets and contributing to the team by taking wickets. However, it's always in the back of my mind that when I am bowling deliveries, I need to put pace behind them. After a match, I always ask people what the highest speed was but during the match, I am only focused on my bowling," Mayank Yadav said.

The 21-year-old also discussed if anyone ever told him to sacrifice pace for accuracy - "No, not really. All the bowlers I spoke to in Delhi, Ishant (Sharma) bhai and (Navdeep) Saini bhai, they all told me that if I wanted to try anything new, I should play around my speed. If I want to add a new skill, it should be around my speed and that I don't need to add any skills that could compromise my speed."

Eoin Morgan, JioCinema TATA IPL expert, on Mayank Yadav's 156.7 kmph delivery to Cameron Green - "We built him up and he delivered that ball in particular. Not only the pace but the accuracy in that, to cash in on a mistake that an experienced young batter, an international player, has made today, yet again. It's hard to think he's added more to his stock, but he definitely has."
