We are back for the chase! Hollie Armitage leads the MI London Women players through the smoke and fireworks before getting into a huddle. They spread out and take their respective field positions. Meg Lanning and Smriti Mandhana are the elegant opening pair for Manchester Super Giants Women. Tara Norris will start proceedings with the ball. The keeper is standing up to the stumps. Ecclestone and Co. call the shots - It all started with Sophie Ecclestone, who struck twice very early to put Manchester Super Giants Women firmly on top. She capped off a superb all-round display with sensational figures of 2/7, while also contributing with a catch and a run out. The rest of the attack built on that momentum brilliantly, never allowing MI London Women to settle. Ryana Macdonald-Gay picked up three, and Maitlan Brown got a couple, while Kathryn Bryce and Grace Ballinger chipped in with one each to complete a ruthless bowling effort. Chasing just 93, the star-studded batting line-up will fancy their chances, though cricket has a habit of producing the unexpected. Join us in a bit for the second essay.
A quick chat - Manchester Super Giants Women's Ryana Macdonald-Gay says she is really happy with the bowling effort and praises the entire attack. She gives special mention to Sophie Ecclestone, calling her exceptional after her remarkable spell. MacDonald-Gay says the side wanted to assess what the wicket was offering and felt there was plenty in it for the bowlers. Looking ahead to the chase, she feels the batters should look to play their natural game and backs the batting unit to chase the target down quickly.
MI's batting frailties exposed - MI London Women endured a nightmare start, losing both openers for ducks within the first eight balls to slip immediately onto the back foot. Hollie Armitage and Amelia Kerr attempted to steady the innings but couldn't turn their starts into something substantial, as regular wickets left them wobbling at 60/5. Nicola Carey then held one end together with a valuable knock, before Chinelle Henry's 16 off 9 gave some hope, but instead, they just folded like a pack of cards, not even able to reach three digits.
A one-sided first half - A clinical bowling display sees Manchester Super Giants Women skittle MI London Women for just 92, leaving the hosts with no answers. Ruthless to the very end, MSG-W wrapped up the last four wickets for just five runs and, at the halfway stage, are firmly in control of this contest.
OUT! TAKEN! A sharp catch by Meg Lanning. MI London Women have been bowled out for 92. Macdonald-Gay bowls it on a good length, on off. Gordon frees her arms and has no intention of keeping it on the ground. She picks the bones out of it but spanks it straight to cover, where Meg Lanning bends and takes the catch at head height. Ryana Macdonald-Gay finishes with 3 wickets.

FOUR BYES! How often have we seen this? A missed opportunity is followed by a boundary on the very next ball. Beyond the tramline, on a good length. Gordon walks towards the off side for the scoop but then tries to angle it past short third but does not manage to connect. Richa Ghosh stands no chance with the batter standing in front of her and it races down to the deep third fence.
Massive miscommunication! Leg-cutter, on a length, on off. Alexa Stonehouse swings at it and spoons it between cover and mid off. Smriti Mandhana moves to her left from mid off while Meg Lanning converges from cover. Both experienced campaigners leave it for the other, and a chance goes begging. Meg is not happy one bit. Smriti was in a better position to go for the catch, and she should have gone for it. Single taken.

OUT! CAUGHT! Another one bites the dust. Third wicket in 5 balls, and Maitlan Brown now has two wickets to her name. Brown takes pace off, on a good length, on off. Monaghan reaches out and slaps it uppishly to cover. Meg Lanning gets low there and takes a safe catch.

OUT! TARA NORRIS IS RUN OUT! Sophie Ecclestone can do no wrong today. Brown pitches it up, on off. Norris presses forward and knocks it to mid off. She times it well and scampers through to bring Monaghan back on strike. Sophie Ecclestone picks the ball up cleanly and scores a direct hit at the bowling end. Tara puts in a desperate dive, but she is found short of her ground.

OUT! CAUGHT! Maitlan Brown gets the prized scalp of Chinelle Henry. MI London Women's chances of a strong finish have taken a big hit. Brown does not offer much pace and keeps it away from the batter's arc, full and near the tramline. Henry reaches out and tries to drag it away on the leg side. Slices it in the air towards cover. Meg Lanning moves to her right and does the rest. MI London Women are now 87/7.

She does not quite get the desired distance and Mady Villiers does well to move to her right at deep mid-wicket and parries it away towards the converging fielder. Two taken. End of a fine spell by Sophie Ecclestone, finishing with figures of 2/7 from her 20 balls.
This is fired in, on a length, on middle and leg. Monaghan clears the front leg and has a heave across the line but is beaten on the inside edge and gets hit on the back thigh.

Never really got going - Or should we say MI London were never allowed to by Manchester Super Giants. A highest score of just 18 from Kira Chathli tells the story of the home side's batting effort. Sophie Ecclestone took the new ball and set the tone for Manchester's bowling effort with a double strike. The rest of the attack chimed in, chipping away at the wickets and ensuring there was no way back for the home side.
Chased down with ease - MI London needed early wickets in the Powerplay, but the opening pair of Smriti Mandhana and Meg Lanning ensured that was never the case. They took their time through the opening couple of sets before opening up and playing their shots in a 73-run opening stand. Super Giants did lose four wickets towards the end, but by then the result was a mere formality. They would have liked to be clinical in closing out the chase, but it did little to take the shine off an otherwise dominant performance.
PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Sophie Ecclestone wins the award for her brilliance with the ball. She picked up 2/7 in her 20 balls, along with a couple of catches and a run out. She says that it was nice to get the opportunity to bowl in the Powerplay and pick up a couple of wickets. Sophie mentions that it was all about match-ups between her and Hayley Matthews, that's why she came on early. Says that they have a great bowling attack with her, Mady Villiers, and the others, hoping that they continue the good work. Ends by saying that she loved bowling with the new ball and wants Meg Lanning to give her more opportunities.
Super Giants return to winning ways - A win set up by the bowlers and completed by the batters without much fuss. It is a third win in five games for the Meg Lanning-led side as they move to 14 points, including two from a washout. Manchester further extend the gap between the top three and the rest of the pack. For MI London, the wait for a win goes on. It is now 9 games without a victory dating back to last season. They remain the only winless team across both the men's and women's competitions this season, and this defeat all but ends their playoff hopes.
FOUR! Mady Villiers finishes things off in style! Manchester Super Giants Women win by 6 wickets. Kirstie Gordon gives this one some more air, on middle. Villiers skips down the track and smacks it to the wide long on fence for a boundary.

OUT! LBW! A good review from MI London Women. Kirstie Gordon gets a wicket now. Tossed up, full and on middle, Meg Lanning gets down on one knee for the sweep, but this is too full for that shot. She misses and gets hit on the thigh pad. There is a big shout for LBW, but not given. However, Hollie Armitage takes the review after a chat with her bowler. UltraEdge confirms no bat involved and Ball Tracking shows three reds, with the ball hitting the leg stump. Manchester Super Giants Women are 89/4, still needing 4 runs to win.

Ekes out an inside edge onto the pads and the batters sneak in a quick single as the ball drops beside the strip on the leg side. Hollie Armitage gets to the ball and scores a direct hit at the bowling end but Mady is in by then. The ball deflects wide of the cover fielder and the batters pick up another run.

OUT! TIMBER! Two in two for Amelia Kerr. Dishes out the googly, full and on middle. Paige Scholfield presses forward, and she tries to clip it away on the leg side. The ball lands and spins back enough to beat the inside edge. It clips the front pad before deflecting onto the stumps. Kerr is on a hat-trick now.

OUT! TAKEN! Richa Ghosh holes out in a bid to finish the game quickly with the net run rate in mind. Kerr sticks to the googly, but the length is dragged back this time, on middle. Ghosh has a heave across the line but does not get hold of it. It goes only as far as deep mid-wicket, where Nicola Carey gets to her knees and completes the catch to her left.
