MI vs RCB: Fans went berserk after Dinesh Karthik once again played a whirlwind innings in the IPL 2024. In Match 25 against Mumbai Indians at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter smashed five fours and four sixes en route to his unbeaten 53-run knock off 23 balls.

In the 16th over from Aakash Madhwal, the 38-year-old smashed four boundaries behind the wicket-keeper. The right-hander hammered a six each off Gerald Coetzee and Jasprit Bumrah in the 18th and 19th over respectively. In the final over, Karthik blasted Madhwal for two sixes and a four.

After Dinesh Karthik scored a 22-ball fifty and helped RCB finish at 196/8, commentator Harsha Bhogle declared him the best Indian finisher in IPL 2024. "In this form @DineshKarthik is the best Indian finisher in the #TATAIPL2024," Bhogle wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

"No overhype, No credit stealing, No test knocks in IPL. Just great shots and important runs for the team. Dinesh Karthik the legend of IPL," another fan wrote.

Dinesh Kartik has been in sublime form in the IPL 2024. He has scored 143 runs in six matches at an average of 71.50 and a strike rate of 190.66. He has remained uneaten in three out of his five innings in the season so far.

The form of the veteran cricketer is even more impressive is not a very active cricketer anymore, and is mostly busy with his commentary stints in non-IPL seasons.

Talking about the match, RCB posted 196 runs on the board for the loss of eight wickets. Virat Kohli was dismissed for three off nine, but Faf du Plessis (61) and Rajat Patidar (50) went on to hit a fifty each. Mumbai pacer Jasprit Bumrah registered brilliant figures of 5/21 in four overs.
