Mumbai Indians are set to square off against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a crucial IPL 2025 match today (Monday, April 7) at the Wankhede Stadium.
After three defeats in the first four matches, the five-time IPL champions are in need of a victory. As they return home against the upbeat RCB side, the onus will be on the Paltans players to showcase their might.

Ahead of the match, the MI are still toiling over the availability of Rohit Sharma. The India captain didn't play in the last match due to a knee injury, and his participation against Virat Kohli and company. Is dependent on a late assessment. Rohit practised in the nets on Sunday for a long period and played some exquisite shots, and his selection is likely to be decided today.
"Rohit had an unfortunate impact on his leg while batting so he felt uncomfortable. We were travelling yesterday. He'll have a hit today and then we will do an assessment on that," MI coach Mahela Jayawardene said on Sunday.
The veteran has been short of runs in the IPL so far, managing just 21 across the first three innings. He started the season with a duck against CSK and then scored 8 and 13 respectively against GT and KKR. Although form is an issue, MI won't hesitate to play Rohit if he is fit.
Rohit Sharma is likely to feature today in the playing squad. It is unlikely that the India skipper will be fielding and probably Rohit will be used as an Impact Player, coming out to bat only.
The Mumbai Indians have received a huge boost with the return of Jasprit Bumrah. The pacer was ruled out with a lower back injury but has been cleared by the BCCI Centre of Excellence for participation. Bumrah, if things are on course, will be available for selection today.
