Mohammed Shami gets marriage proposal from THIS Bollywood actress, but there's one condition

Mohammed Shami recently received a marriage proposal from TV and Bollywood actress Payal Ghosh after his performance against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 2.

In the match, Shami registered figures of 5/18 in five overs as Sri Lanka were bundled out for 55 in just 19.4 overs. The express pacer is only the second bowler in history after Mitchell Starc to pick three five-fers in ODI World Cups.

He is also India's all-time leading wicket-taker at the World Cups. He overtook Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath's tally of 44 wickets each in the ongoing World Cup 2023. Shami, the leading wicket-taker for the Indian Cricket Team in the World Cup 2023, was given the Man of the Match award for his stellar performance against Sri Lanka.

After India's emphatic 302-run win, Payal Ghosh found herself bowled over by the heroics of Shami and ended up proposing to her publicly on X. However, she put a 'condition' and requested Shami to improve his English-speaking skills.

"#Shami Tum apna English sudharlo, I’m ready to marry you," the Saath Nibhaana Saathiya actress tweeted.

33-year-old is also the vice president of the Republican Party of India's (Athawale) women's wing. In September 2020, the Kolkata-born actress accused Anurag Kashyap and filed a police complaint for sexually harassing her in 2013.

Mohammed Shami had a troublesome marriage with her ex-wife Hasin Jahan who made several false allegations against the star cricketer. Shami is expected to be next seen in India's last league stage match against Netherlands on Sunday, November 12.
