Last season's Orange Cap winner Jos Buttler leads the list for most ducks in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 following his fifth score of nought in the ongoing season. It's the most for a batter in a single season.
The Rajasthan Royals opener, who had smashed 4 hundreds in IPL 2022, has registered 5 ducks in IPL 2023. He achieved the unwanted record during Rajasthan Royals' final league stage match of the season against Punjab Kings.
The record for most ducks in a single season was previously held jointly by Herschelle Gibbs, Manish Pandey, Shikhar Dhawan, Eoin Morgan, Mithun Manhas and Nicholas Pooran, who had all registered 4 ducks in a season.

Karthik eclipsed Rohit as player with most ducks in IPL history following his fourth duck in the ongoing IPL 2023 during the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Kolkata Knight Riders' Sunil Narine had registered the third duck of the IPL 2023 in match 33 against CSK at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday (April 23) to go level with two other players in the unwanted list, but Rohit now is the sole owner of the record.
The West Indies all-rounder joined KKR teammate Mandeep Singh as the players with second most ducks in IPL history, with the trio being dismissed on zero for the fifteenth time.
Kolkata Knight Riders' Mandeep is also among players to register an unwanted record of most ducks in the Indian Premier League. Narine and Mandeep now have 15 ducks, while Rohit has 16 ducks and Karthik has 17 ducks to their names in IPL.

DC's Mitchell Marsh, who had earlier registered a golden duck himself, was dismissed for nought off the fourth ball against RCB. That innings also saw Prithvi Shaw register his second duck this season.
There has been over a 35 ducks so far this season and at least 15 are golden ducks and one is a diamond duck. A golden duck is when a batter is out off the very first delivery he faces and a diamond duck is when a batter is dismissed without facing any legal delivery.
Also among the ducks list this season are Rajasthan Royals duo Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler and Mumbai Indians' Suryakumar Yadav, who has registered at least 4 golden ducks, including three for Team India, in the space of two months.
Punjab Kings' opener Prabhsimran Singh also has two ducks so far, while Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Aiden Markram also is among the list. SRH's Umran Malik is the only player to have registered a diamond duck so far.
