Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Ajinkya Rahane on Monday (April 21) joined an exclusive club by becoming the sixth player to score 500-plus fours in the history of the Indian Premier League with his composed batting display against Gujarat Titans (GT) in the ongoing IPL 2025.
Rahane achieved the feat after hammering five fours en-route to his half-century against GT at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. With these five boundaries, Rahane now boasts 500-plus fours in the cash-rich league's history.

The seasoned batter has hit 502 fours in 193 matches and joined the elusive list featuring Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, David Warner, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina. Here is a look at the top 10 players with most fours in IPL:
Coming back to KKR vs GT IPL 2025 match, Rahane was the lone fighter in the home side's pursuit of a daunting 199-run target. While the rest of the batting group without making much of an impact, Rahane took on the responsibility of guiding his team over the line.
However, his effort came to an end in the 13th over by Washington Sundar. Rahane was outfoxed by GT's all-rounder. Sundar anticipated the charge from the Kolkata skipper and fired the ball outside off. The ball went past the bat, and Jos Buttler completed a fine stumping to put the final nail in the coffin.
Following Rahane's dismissal, none of the other batters were able to put up a fight except for impact player Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who played a fine cameo, but the game had already gone out of reach for the defending champions, who lost their fifth game of the season.
