Sunrisers Hyderabad reclaimed the lead in the sixes race for a team in IPL 2024 following a 25-run victory in a high-scoring game against Royal Challengers Benagluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday (April 15).
Heinrich Klaasen, the leading six-hitter in the ongoing season, smashed 7 maximums, while his SRH teammate Travis Head, who scored his maiden IPL century, hit 8 sixes to take their team’s total tally to 22 on the night.

The ongoing season has seen over 500 sixes in just 30 matches as the highest total record was breached twice within the space of two weeks, and one team almost got close breaking that record earlier in the season.
SRH took the lead from Mumbai Indians after they piled on 287, the record highest total in IPL history. The match in total saw over 35 sixes as RCB also smashed 16 maximums in the run chase, which ended 26 runs short of the target at 262 in their allotted 20 overs.
For RCB, Dinesh Karthik smashed 7 sixes, while skipper Faf Du Plessis hit 4 maximums followed by Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror, who hit two sixes each. SRH's Aiden Markram, Abhishek Sharma and Abdul Samad also contributed to the sixes column in the match.
