According to Wikipedia, the 2023 Cricket World Cup, Cricket World Cup, and Indian Premier League were searched for more than Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and the Premier League.

The most popular article of the year revolved around ChatGPT, the AI chatbot by OpenAI. ChatGPT, with its omnipresence, has become a household name in just over a year since its launch.
It has made significant inroads into various sectors including education, health care, legal, and even religious discourses, thereby gaining colossal public attention.
Following closely, the second most viewed article on Wikipedia in 2023 was the annual list of deaths. This list consistently attracts high traffic and secured the 4th and 1st spots respectively in 2022 and 2021.
Individual Wikipedia pages commemorating famous personalities who passed away in 2023, such as Matthew Perry and Lisa Marie Presley, also attracted an extensive number of views.
The much-awaited 2023 Cricket World Cup clinched the third spot in the most-read articles. Interestingly, three other cricket-related articles also found their place in the top 25 articles, including the Indian Premier League at the fourth spot.
This is the first time a cricket-related article has been included in the list since the Wikimedia Foundation initiated its tracking in 2015. ChatGPT topped the list with 49,490,406 page views.
The annual list of deaths in 2023 came second with 42,666,860 page views. The 2023 Cricket World Cup and the Indian Premier League followed with 38,171,653 and 32,012,810 page views, respectively.
