Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is celebrating his 42nd birthday on Friday (July 7) and the cricket fraternity is sending out heartfelt wishes to 'Captain Cool'.
The Chennai Super Kings' captain - who guided the franchise to their record-equalling fifth IPL title in the Indian Premier League 2023 season - received birthday wishes from his teammates.

Star India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja - who hit the winning runs for CSK in a nail-biting last-ball thriller in the IPL 2023 final - shared a heartfelt birthday wish to his captain.
Sharing the iconic image of Dhoni giving him a tight hug after heroics in the IPL 16 final, Jadeja captioned the image: "My go-to man since 2009 to till date and forever. Wishing you a very happy birthday mahi bhai.🎂see u soon in yellow💛 #respect."
Dhoni's former CSK teammate Suresh Raina - who was part of four successful IPL campaigns for the Yellow Army - also took to his Twitter handle and greeted him.
The explosive left-handed batter tweeted, "Happy birthday to my big brother @msdhoni! From sharing the pitch to sharing our dreams, the bond that we've created is unbreakable. Your strength, both as a leader and as a friend, has been my guiding light. May the year ahead bring you joy, success, and good health. Keep shining, keep leading, and keep spreading your magic."
Ambati Rayudu - another CSK teammate - wished the Jharkhand cricketer on his birthday and wrote on Twitter, "Wishing the legend and the greatest ever to play the sport a very happy birthday! May each and every one of our great country have the honour and the privilege of experiencing your leadership firsthand someday in every aspect of life... Greatest leader!"
Young India cricketer Tilak Varma - who got a maiden India call up for the T20I series against West Indies - took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "Happy birthday Mahi bhai. I remember the conversations we've had and all the advice you've given me. Wishing you the best always. @msdhoni"
BCCI secretary Jay Shah shared a picture with Dhoni and wrote on Twitter, "Happy Birthday to the most successful captain of Team India, @msdhoni! Your charisma, leadership, and extraordinary skills continue to inspire millions around the globe. Thank you for your unparalleled contributions to Indian cricket."
MS Dhoni's IPL team Chennai Super Kings tweeted, "The clock strikes 12 as we step into THALA's birthday in style! BRING ON THE BIRTHDAY WHISTLES".
Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag tweeted in his own witty style to wish his former teammate. "The Sun God has 7 horses to pull his heavenly chariot. MS Dhoni needs no introduction as he has established himself as one of the greats the game has ever seen. Known for his calm demeanour and superb captaincy skills on international and IPL pitch, the wicketkeeper-batter is hailed as one of the sharpest brains.
Dhoni announced his retirement from Test after playing 90 Tests. He scored 4,876 runs at an average of 38.09 in the red-ball format. He also played 350 ODIs and 98 T20Is. He captained India in 98 T20Is.
