New Zealand became the first team to announce their squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 on Monday (April 29).
The Black Caps, who were the beaten Finalists in 2021, named a strong squad for T20 WC as Kane Williamson is to lead the side.

Devon Conway, Trent Boult, Daryl Mitchell, Tim Southee - all of their current team gladiators are picked as they will be hoping to showcase their skill in the West Indies and USA.
As New Zealand Cricket announced the squad, it was not some NZC official who named the players, rather it was two kids named Angus and Matilda.
"Good Morning Everyone. Thank you for coming here. I am Matilda. I am Angus. And Today, it will be a pleasure to announce you the Black Caps squad for the ICC T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA," the dup said.
Then they went on to name the entire squad and asked the media for any questions regarding the squad announcement.
The entire video, which was uploaded on social media by New Zealand Cricket, has gone viral as people appreciated the innovative way of announcing the squad. The two kids won the hearts of the cricket lovers and people hailed NZC for their approach.
This is not the first time that New Zealand have announced a squad in a unique way. Their announcement video for the World Cup 2023 also won hearts as the relatives and family members of players named them in another heartwarming video.
NZC also announced the team jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup. They have adopted their vintage Teal Blue kits instead of the general Black kit.
The Black Caps are in Group C along with West Indies, Papua New Guinea, Afghanistan and Uganda. They will start their campaign on 8th June against the Afghans.
