PAK vs SL: Kusal Mendis started from where he left against South Africa and hammered Pakistan bowlers all around the park to hit a 65-ball hundred - the fastest by a Sri Lanka batter in ODI World Cup - at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday, October 8.
Mendis, who scored 76 off 42 balls against South Africa in Delhi on Saturday, brought up a 65-ball hundred to break Kumar Sangakkara's record for fastest ODI World Cup hundred by a Sri Lanka batter. The former Sri Lanka captain had scored a 70-ball hundred against England in Wellington during the 2015 World Cup.

The Sri Lanka number three was ruthless in his approach and made Pakistan pay after being dropped by Imam-ul-Haq for 18 in the seventh over of the match. The right-hand batter brought up his hundred with a six over deep mid-wicket on the first ball of the 27th over from Hasan Ali.
He blasted a couple of more sixes in the 29th over from Hasan Ali before trying to send the ball flying over the boundary rope for the third time in a row. It was Imam-ul-Haq who redeemed himself by grabbing a good catch which soared up so high in the air that even the cameraman failed to pick it in his first attempt.
Kusal Mendis' 77-bal 122 consisted of 14 four and sixes. He walked out of the ground amid a standing ovation from the fans and his teammates. He broke and created a string of records with his whirlwind knock. Let's have a look.
