Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman are taking good measure of the Bangladesh bowling line-up and scoring runs at a good economy rate of over 6 runs an over. In 12 overs, Pakistan have reached 65 without any loss. This has been a fine start from the openers for the Men in Green. The unbeaten fifty stand between these two comes as a major relief to the captain and team management. Can Pakistan win this game without losing any wickets?

Bangladesh's innings concludes as Mustafizur's stumps are shattered by a superb yorker from Mohammad Wasim Jr. The ball deflected onto the pad before hitting the stumps. Bangladesh all-out for 204.
Taskin Ahmed's stumps are in disarray! Mohammad Wasim Jr delivers a fiery, full ball on the stumps at 142.5kph, leaving Taskin with no room to maneuver. He's bowled out for 6 runs off 13 deliveries.
Mehidy Hasan attempts a slog against Wasim, but the ball swerves in and knocks over the off-stump. Bangladesh loses its eighth wicket, with Mehidy departing after scoring 25 runs.
Shaheen Afridi makes a return, with an early appeal for a caught-behind, but the umpire declines. After discussions with the keeper and captain, no review is taken, which proves a wise decision. The ball brushed the pads without involving the bat. Only two runs are scored in the over, taking Bangladesh's total to 200 runs.
Haris Rauf's change in angle brings success as Shakib attempts a pull but top-edges it to a simple catch at midwicket. Shakib departs for 43, and Bangladesh loses its seventh wicket.
In Usama's ninth over, the first four balls yield four singles. On the fifth delivery, Miraz unleashes a powerful slog-sweep over midwicket for a six, accumulating 10 runs from the over.

Shakib's innings has progressed to 11 runs from 31 deliveries, and it's crucial for him to pick up the pace. Wasim has slightly shortened his length, but the left-handed batsman is not experiencing much reverse swing. The last over was economical, with only four runs added.
Bangladesh have reached 121 for the loss of 4 overs in 28 overs. Mahmudullah Riyadh - who has been their best batter in the ongoing competition - continues his good form and notches up yet another fighting half-century under pressure.
Wicket! Iftikhar Ahmed strikes and Litton Das has to depart for 45. Soft dismissal for Das as he played a no shot and paid the price. Agha Salman took a simple catch and the batter stares in disbelief at what he's done. Things were going so well for Bangladesh but this untimely wicket will change it all for them. Bangladesh are 102/4 in 20.5 overs.
The last 10 overs have gone well for Bangladesh as the experienced duo of Litton Das and Mahmudullah has rescued the team through troubled waters. Bangladesh are 96 for 3 in 20 overs. The partnership between Litton and Mahmudullah is worth 74 now for the fourth wicket but the job isn't completed. They'll have to take this stand further and help their team post a decent total on the board at Eden Gardens.
At the end of 15 overs, Bangladesh are 66 for the loss of three wickets against Pakistan. The partnership between Litton Das and Mahmudullah is worth 43 now. The team will hope these two string a longer partnership for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh finds themselves in early trouble with Shanto departing after scoring just 4 runs.
Afridi delivers to Tanzid, and it's an LBW decision! Shaheen Shah Afridi's delivery angled in and maintained its line, resulting in the batter being caught in front of the stumps.
Pakistan gets a Wicket in the first over. Tanzid goes for a duck!
Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan will be the opening pair for Bangladesh. While, Shaheen Shah Afridi is positioning himself at the start of his bowling run-up.
59m and 69m side boundaries, it's 74m straight down the ground. We saw a lot of turn and bounce in the last game, but that was on a different pitch. The wicket they're playing today looks very dry with no moisture at all. It should turn a bit and bring the spinners into play. Will be a bit of a challenge for the batters, reckon Nasser Hussain and Shane Watson, in their pitch report.
Bangladesh (Playing XI): Litton Das, Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan(c), Mushfiqur Rahim(w), Mahmudullah, Towhid Hridoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam
Pakistan (Playing XI): Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam(c), Mohammad Rizwan(w), Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Agha Salman, Shaheen Afridi, Usama Mir, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Haris Rauf
We would also like to bat first. There might be some swing in it early on because there is some moisture in it. Last match we were good in all three departments. There was some good energy. I am also waiting for a big innings, I will try to convert into a hundred. Three changes, Imam, Shadab and Nawaz out, Fakhar, Salman and Usama in.
We will bat first, looks like a dry wicket, we played the last game here, it was slow and there was turn. We have nothing to lose, we have to play well in the first 10 overs and hopefully we can go from there. We haven't been consistent enough, we have been doing bits and pieces but haven't performed collectively and that has been disappointing. There isn't much difference between in here and Dhaka in terms of culture so hopefully we will have some good support.
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elect to Bat first against Babar Azam led Pakistan in ICC World Cup 2023 Match 31 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday (October 31)
