Plenty of time left tonight, 18 overs scheduled to be bowled, and the new pink ball could well be hazardous under lights. This will be a stern test for the Pakistan openers, but should they come through it, the pitch remains placid and ripe for accumulating runs.

So Sri Lanka secure a first innings lead of an enormous 220 runs. They have decided against enforcing the follow-on, understandable considering the state of the match and series. They can now bat with freedom in their second dig, safe in the knowledge that things will only get tougher for Pakistan as time goes on.

That takes us to drinks for the final time today with Sri Lanka in complete control. They may well have the option of enforcing the follow-on but I'm not sure it's too likely given that the pitch will get worse and worse for batting as time goes on.

Remarkable start to the morning in Dubai. This game is moving along rapidly. Pakistan blow away the Sri Lankan batting line up for 96, and now set themselves 317 to win the second Test. With how they went in the first innings though, the visitors still big favourites to defend this score, but a slither of hope for the home side. Thoroughly entertaining stuff so far today.

A famous victory and series win for the visitors. The first defeat for Pakistan in this part of the world. Two incredible Tests in a thoroughly entertaining ten days of cricket. In the end it was the batting of the hosts that let them down. Their second innings in the first Test, and their first innings here. Had they got them right, it could have been 2-0 the other way round. Credit must go to Sri Lanka though, the underdogs coming into this tour, and they have pulled off a marvellous win.
