New Delhi, Feb 22: Wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel has been picked to join Indian cricket team on Monday after Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni suffered muscle spasm in the back during training ahead of the Asia Cup T20 tournament.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Monday, said Dhoni suffered a muscle spasm during training in Dhaka.

"The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Parthiv Patel as the back-up wicketkeeper for the upcoming Asia Cup, 2016. He will join the team in Dhaka at the earliest," BCCI said in a media advisory on Monday evening.
The 30-year-old Parthiv has featured in 20 Tests, 38 ODIs and 2 T20Is. However, he has not played for India since February 2012.
