As Lahore Qalandars head into the PSL 2025, they will be aiming to reclaim their top status in the competition.

The Qalandars missed out last year after becoming Champions in 2022 and 2023. And the onus will be on the players to restore their top form in the upcoming season. PSL 2024 was a horrid experience for the team as they finished at the bottom of the points table, with just 1 victory across the entire season.

Lahore Qalandars had a decent PSL 2025 draft as they formed a very strong squad with some excellent players. Shaheen Afridi is set to lead the team again whereas Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf are among the top players in the team. The addition of Daryl Mitchell, Sikandar Raza has further bolstered the Qalandars outfit ahead of 2025 edition.

Among the players, there will be a few key names who shall be the building blocks of Lahore Qalandars. As they prepare for another trophy raid in 2025, here are four players who are set to play a crucial part.

Shaheen Afridi

Shaheen Afridi is one of the most feared pacers in world cricket, and his role for Lahore Qalandars cannot be overstated. His ability to swing the ball at high pace and take early wickets makes him a significant threat, especially in the powerplay. Shaheen's leadership with the ball is going to be crucial for the Qalandars again. The left-arm pacer got 14 wickets last time but is expected to enhance his numbers in 2025.

Fakhar Zaman

A player with an abundance of quality, Fakhar Zaman is a key player in Lahore Qalandars' batting lineup. As an opener, his role is crucial in providing stability and scoring quickly at the top. New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell needs to buckle up for the PSL this time around. The talented player is an excellent middle-order batter and possesses quality with medium pace bowling. Mitchell's ability at the top level makes him a top prospect for Qalandars. This will be the first taste of PSL for the 33-year-old and his performance will be a significant part of Qalandars' prospects.

Haris Rauf

Pakistan's speedster Haris Rauf is expected to play a big role for Lahore Qalandars in PSL 2025. Rauf had a very poor outing in PSL 2024, where he picked up just 2 wickets across 4 matches. The Pakistan pacer's wicket-taking ability is a big factor and a better season with the ball would definitely be a big boost for the Qalandars.
