Mohali, Feb 17: Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings will begin their campaign in the IPL 2023 season on April 1.

The Mohali-based franchise will be facing Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders in their first game at their home ground i.e. IS Bindra International Cricket Stadium.

Punjab Kings - who made a major overhaul in the squad ahead of the IPL 2023 - by appointing Shikhar Dhawan as the captain of the side before the IPL 2023 Auction. The franchise also made some interesting purchases during players' bidding in Kochi.

Punjab Kings - who finished sixth in the IPL 2022 season - like every other franchise will be playing 14 league games in the tournament and will be looking to put up a memorable show this time around.

PBKS will play their second game of the season against Rajasthan Royals on April 5 and that match will be held in Guwahati. Out of 14 games, three of Punjab Kings' contests will begin at 3:30 PM (ISL) in the daytime. The remainder of the 11 games will begin at 7:30 PM (IST).

PBKS will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 9 while they will face defending champions Gujarat Titans on April 13 at home. The PBKs vs Mumbai Indians match will be held at the latter's backyard i.e. Wankhede Stadium on April 22. Dhawan and his band will face CSK on April 30 at Chepauk, Chennai.

PBKS have been put in Group B alongside Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Gujarat Titans. They'll play Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians once in the league stage. While they'll lock horns with the other franchises two times.
