Ashwin, who has grabbed 27 wickets in this series so far, had finished the 2015 year-end rankings as the number-one bowler and was also at the top briefly in July this year.

3. Dale Steyn:
South African pace spearhead is third on the ICC Test Rankings. He has 844 points.
4. James Anderson:
The England pacer is at the fourth place in the ICC Test Rankings. His rating points have dropped to 818 from 834 points, before start of Mumbai Test.
5. Josh Hazelwood:
Australia pace bowler consolidated his position in top five for after taking six wickets in Adelaide Test against South Africa. He has 815 rating points.
