New Delhi, Sep 11: India's leading spinner Ravindra Jadeja has expressed his displeasure after the selectors decided to rest him for the limited-overs series against Australia.
The selectors on Sunday (September 10) announced a 16-member India squad for the first three games against Australia and reposed their faith in young spinners Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.
Jadeja along with his spin-twin Ravichandran Ashwin was not picked up for the upcoming series, giving a hint that the selectors are in a mood to try new faces as the former haven't been much effective in the shorter formats.
"The team for the three ODIs against Australia has been selected in line with the rotation policy of the Board and accordingly R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested," chairman of selectors MSK Prasad told media persons while announcing the Indian squad.
It seems Jadeja was unhappy after being overlooked and the Saurashtra all-rounder took to Twitter to express his displeasure, but the left-arm spinner deleted his tweet after some time.
"Make your comebacks stronger than your setbacks #rajputboy," read Jadeja's tweet, which he deleted.

Axar, Kuldeep, and Yuzvendra were all part of the Indian side during limited overs series against Sri Lanka and all of them did reasonably well. The youngsters deserved to be given a chance against a strong Australian side in the home series.
Meanwhile, fast bowling duo of Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami returned to a 16-member India squad. The only change in the Virat Kohli-led squad was the omission of pacer Shardul Thakur. Mumbai pacer will now go back to India A series for New Zealand.
Yadav and Shami, who were rested after the Sri Lanka Test series, have been recalled after a break. India named a 16-member squad instead of 15 for the first three games.
