New Delhi, Dec 13: Rohit Sharma was on a record-breaking spree as he slammed his career's third limited-overs double century during the second ODI against Sri Lanka in Mohali on Wednesday (December 13).

Rohit was patient to begin with, content to bide his time and slowly expand his game. After reaching his century, he really cut loose and demolished the Sri Lankan bowling attack all around the park.

The Hitman started dealing in sixes after notching up his ton and smashed 12 massive sixes in his unbeaten knock of 153-ball 208. He tormented the Sri Lankan bowlers who visibly found clues against the form and class of the stylish right-hander.

Rohit reached his three-figure mark in 115 deliveries but took just 36 more balls to reach the second hundred.

Shikhar Dhawan (68) and Shreyas Iyer (88) were the other top scorers for India, as the hosts were eyeing a to stay alive in the series with a win after suffering a humiliating loss in the first ODI at Dharamshala.

Enchanted with Rohit's blitz, cricketers and fans hailed Rohit for playing yet another supreme innings.
