India and Chennai Super Kings batter Ruturaj Gaikwad on Saturday (June 3) got married to his long-time girlfriend and fiancee Utkarsha Pawar in Mumbai.
Utkarsha is a Pune-born woman cricketer and plays for Maharashtra in the domestic circuit. Ruturaj and Utkarsha would be the rare cricket couples in Indian cricket.

As per reports, the right-handed batter from Maharashtra tied the knot in the presence of family members and close friends in a traditional Marathi wedding. The images of a glittery wedding of the Indian cricketer started circulating on social media after the newly-wedded couple took the vows.
On June 2, a picture from Ruturaj-Utkarsha's 'Mehendi' ceremony went viral on social media. The right-handed batter - was in action on Monday with his IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings - in the IPL 2023 Final against Gujarat Titans.
In the post-wedding pictures circulating on social media, Gaikwad was spotted posing for the cameras with his CSK teammates. CSK all-rounder Shivam Dube attended the wedding of his IPL teammate along with his wife.
Ruturaj and his opening partner from New Zealand, Devon Conway, played a crucial role in their team's fifth title-winning campaign in the premier domestic T20 competition.
Gaikwad scored 26 off 16 and forged a crucial 74-run partnership off 39 balls with Conway and laid the foundation for a memorable run chase in a rain-hit game. The iconic final took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad which CSK won by 5 wickets via the DLS method.
Following the IPL, Gaikwad was supposed to travel to the United Kingdom as a reserve batter for the upcoming World Test Championships 2021-2023 Final against Australia at The Oval, starting June 7. Later, BCCI sent Yashasvi Jaiswal as his replacement.
It was speculated that CSK captain MS Dhoni - the former India skipper - might also attend his fellow teammate's wedding reception but the legendary cricketer was not seen in any of the images circulating on social media.
Dhoni - who went through a successful knee surgery at Mumbai's Kokilaben Hospital - must not have been in a state to move from the hospital. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed to the media that Dhoni's surgery went well but the 41-year-old cricketer - who promised to play one more year in the IPL for CSK fans - will take at least a couple of months in rehabilitation.
