India registered multiple records with their excellent batting display in the 3rd T20I against South Africa on Wednesday (November 13).
Tilak Varma scored his maiden T20I century and became the 12th Indian to score a T20I Century in Centurion.

The southpaw scored a sublime 107 off just 50 deliveries as India posted a mammoth 219 runs in Centurion. Abhishek Sharma also silenced his critics with 50 off just 25 deliveries. Hardik Pandya scored 18 while debutant Ramandeep Singh batted with a flurry at the end, scoring 15 runs off six deliveries.
India has now posted the highest total on South African soil. The 219 at Centurion eclipsed a 17-year-old record for India, which they registered in the 2007 T20 World Cup. The previous highest was 218 against England in Durban in the T20 World Cup seventeen years ago, a match which is in the folklore for Yuvraj Singh's six sixes in an over.
India have now scored 5 international centuries in the calendar year 2024, thus equalling the with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (2016) and India (2023) themselves. India's T20I centurions in 2024 are-
Rohit Sharma - 121* vs Afghanistan
Abhishek Sharma - 100 vs Zimbabwe
Sanju Samson - 111 vs Bangladesh
Sanju Samson - 107 vs South Africa
Tilak Varma - 107 vs South Africa
India managed their eighth 200+ total in T20s in 2024 - the most by a team. The Indian team thus surpassed the total of seven each by Birmingham Bears (2022), India (2023) and Japan (2024).
