Sachin, Sehwag and Dravid's connection with Holkar Stadium

Indore, Oct 8: Indore's Holkar Stadium might be hosting first ever Test match, but the cricket ground has several cricketing memories attached to it.

The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) cricket ground has hosted four ODI matches so far some of whom have been a part of India's cricket history. Also, the city of Indore has several cricket connections attached to it.

Here are Holkar Stadium's cricket connection with legendary India cricketers:

Sachin Tendulkar:

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar would remember the Holkar Stadium for it is this ground where he completed his 10,000 ODI runs. Tendulkar touched this milestone batting against Australia on March 31, 2001.

The iconic India batsman slammed 139 in that match which India won by a whopping margin of 118 runs.

Rahul Dravid:

The Wall of Indian cricket, Rahul Dravid was born in the city of Indore. A dressing room has been named after Rahul Dravid at this iconic stadium to honour him.

Virender Sehwag:

Virender Sehwag is going to remember this ground for the rest of his life and so will Indian cricket fans. The Nawab of Najafgarh slammed his maiden ODI double hundred on this very ground.

Sehwag hit 219 runs of 208 balls against West Indies on December 8, 2011. India won that game by 153 runs.

Syed Mushtaq Ali:

A pavilion at this venue has been named after legendary batsman Syed Mushtaq Ali, who was born in the city of Indore. Mushtaq Ali was the first Indian to slam a ton overseas at England's Manchester.

Colonel CK Nayudu:

A pavilion is also named here after India's first Test skipper Colonel CK Nayudu, who led India on its first official tour of England. Colonel Nayudu, who played several domestic matches at this stadium, breathed his last in the city of Indore.

So far, India have remained unbeaten at the Holkar stadium as they have won all the four ODIs played there. India had defeated South Africa by 22 runs in the last match played on October 14 last year.
