New Delhi, Sep 3: Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the first wicketkeeper in world cricket to effect 100 stumpings in One Day Internationals.

The Dhoni achieved the feat in his 301st ODI as he whipped the bails off to remove Akila Dananjaya off leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal's bowling.

The 36-year-old has also taken 281 catches apart from scoring 9,657 runs (before the start of the Indian chase).

The Ranchi-lad, who has also played 90 Tests and 77 T20 Internationals, has taken 256 catches and effected 38 stumpings in Tests. In T20 Internationals', the man with a lightning quick pair of hands has catches/stumping record at 43/23.

Former India captain and legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar hailed Dhoni, his former teammate, and congratulated the latter with a special tweet.

"Who said lightning doesn't strike twice? Today it did for the 100th time! Well done, @msdhoni! Keep them coming :-)," tweeted the legendary batsman.

Interestingly, Dhoni effected his ODI career's stumping off Sachin Tendulkar's delivery.

Here's how Twitterati congratulated Dhoni for his 100th dismissal via stumping:
