Shashank Manohar steps down as ICC chief: Twitter in a state of shock

New Delhi, March 15: Shashank Manohar shocked one and all with his surprise resignation from his post as the chief of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday (March 15).

59-year-old Manohar, who quit after serving only eight months in office, cited personal reasons for his decision.

He was was elected unopposed as the ICC's first independent chairman in May 2016 for a two-year term.

He is said to be chiefly responsible for trying to reduce the influence wielded by the Big Three, has resigned from his post as ICC chairman. He had resigned as the chairperson of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in May, last year.

However, his relationship with the BCCI was not good.

Cricket world was in a state of shock after Manohar's surprise resignation and wondered what could be the possible reason for him to quit.
