PLAYER OF THE MATCH - The award goes to Manchester Super Giants' Paul Walter for knocking 64 runs off 32 balls, which gave the team the start they needed. Walter says that he is delighted with the result and his performance as well. He adds that it was one of his finest knocks and he enjoyed his time in the middle. He reckons that they needed to win this game to keep themselves in the competition and says that their bowlers did a good job to defend the total. Ends by saying that hopefully Tim Seifert's hamstring is okay.
Time for the presentation ceremony...
Brave bowlers pull it back - Manchester Super Giants set the tone in their first innings, racing to 149/8 after electing to bat. Paul Walter was the standout, smashing 64 off just 32 balls, while Tim Seifert supported him with a quickfire 55 as the pair put on 119 for the opening wicket. But the Brave bowlers clawed things back in the middle, with Adil Rashid picking 2 wickets and Chris Jordan, Jofra Archer, Moeen Ali and Nikhil Chaudhary each chipping in with a wicket apiece to restrict MSG to a below-par total after a flurry of quick dismissals in the back half.
Shipwrecked within sight of port - Tristan Stubbs and David Miller tried to get the chase done in the last quarter of the game, but the deficit was too much, and it looked gone for the Brave when Miller got dismissed by Mitchell. But the story wasn't done yet. Nikhil Chaudhary came out and started etching close to the target. At the end of the last set, they needed 19, but Gus Atkinson once again stepped up and won it for the side.
Giants turn the screws - Before the start of the second innings, we all thought it was chasable and it's not some mountain to climb for the Brave, but the Super Giants certainly made it look like one. Their bowlers were pumped up from the first set when Gus Atkinson picked up a wicket on the third delivery. After that, the situation was steadied by Tristan Stubbs and Jamie Smith, but they were hot on the heels as the bowlers were tight with their lines and lengths.
Rollercoaster of emotions - Oh my goodness, what a match it was! Full of entertainment, and till the very last set, we were all on the edge of our seats. We all knew how important this match was in terms of their qualification for the play-offs, and after all the drama, Manchester Super Giants have won by 10 runs. This means Southern Brave is out of the play-off race. Whereas the winning side will get these crucial points and leapfrog to third in the points table, knocking MI London from that position.
