Sri Lanka Cricket has suffered a blow as the SLC secretary Mohan de Silva has tendered his resignation on Saturday (November 4).
The decision from De Silva comes after Sri Lanka's dismal 302-run defeat against India on Thursday. The Lankans have managed just two wins so far in this World Cup and are on the verge of elimination from the World Cup 2023.

Amid their awful show in India, there were calls from the country's sports minister Roshan Ranasinghe against the SLC administration. Ranasinghe demanded resignation of the entire administration, and De Silva is the first piece of the jigsaw to unhitch.
Sri Lanka will be up against Bangladesh in their next match on Monday in Delhi. If the match gets abandoned or Sri Lanka lose it, the Lions will be officially ousted from the tournament.
