Former cricketer-turned expert Aakash Chopra has preferred KL Rahul over Sanju Samson in his probable 15-member Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and Caribbean.
It's that time of the season when everybody are making their choices for the players to be on the flight for the showpiece event in June. And Chopra also revealed his picks on his YouTube channel on Sunday (April 28).

Like most of the experts, Chopra also has picked Rohit Sharma, Yashasvis Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli as the probable top four in the batting order.
There has been much debate over the possible wicketkeeping options with Rishabh Pant returning to action and several other options also showing good form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
While Pant is likely to be the number one choice to don the gloves, Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson and Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul have made their case in IPL 2024. All three wicketkeeper-batter options are in good form with the bat and also with the gloves.
Chopra said Pant brings the extra dimension of a left-hander, while in a toss up between Samson and Rahul, the former cricketer felt Rahul will be picked as a backup opener. He added that neither will be immediate picks in the 11.
The former Indian opener also picked Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja as the two all-rounders in his squad with Shivam Dube and Rinku Singh possibly filling in the finishers slots.
Chopra also has reunited the Kul-Cha spin twins, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, who have both been doing well in the IPL 2024, where the pair have been among the wickets.
Jasprit Bumrah is expected to spearhead the pace bowling attack with Chopra adding Arshdeep Singh and Deepak Chahar as his preferred choice to partner the Mumbai Indians pacer. Here is a look at Aakash Chopra's squad for the World Cup:
Rohit Sharma (captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Chahar.
