The upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between India and South Africa, scheduled for November 5 at Kolkata's Eden Gardens, has ignited an enormous demand for tickets in cricket-crazy Kolkata.
The frenzy around this match comes as no surprise given it involves the Indian team and a resurgent South African side, which is sitting at the top of the points table, following a win over Pakistan.

Ahead of the big clash between India and South Africa, former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly expects a full house at the iconic venue. However, the Prince of Kolkata is a relieved man as he's no more the BCCI president, and therefore he won't be hounded for match tickets.
Interacting with media persons on Saturday (October 28) in Kolkata, Ganguly humorously remarked, "It's an India match, obviously there will be a craze. Thankfully, I'm not (BCCI) president anymore. I don't have any tickets with me."
The first match of the Cricket World Cup 2023 in Kolkata was played between Bangladesh and the Netherlands on Saturday. Ganguly also expressed his delight at the significant presence of Bangladeshi supporters during Saturday's match.
In the game between Bangladesh and the Netherlands, a remarkable 70 percent of the 15,202 attendees hailed from Bangladesh. He attributed this enthusiastic attendance to the geographical proximity of Bangladesh to India.
Ganguly commended the spirited performance of the Bangladeshi team and appreciated the strong support from their fans, saying, "They have played well too."
In anticipation of the upcoming Pakistan-Bangladesh game, Ganguly expressed his hope for an even larger crowd turnout. He looked forward to witnessing a similar passion for cricket from both sets of supporters during this exciting match.
