New Delhi, Feb 3: Sri Lanka's Under 19 team may have lost their game against Pakistan on Wednesday in the ongoing ICC world cup at Bangladesh, but a young Lankan spinner is grabbing the attention, thanks to his unique bowling style.

In the group match against Pakistan, off spinner Kamindu Mendis suprised one and all after he displayed his ambidextrous skills.

The 17-year-old cricketer bowled both right-arm off-spin and left-arm orthodox, simultaneously, in the league match against Pakistan.

His profile at Cricinfo reads - Right-arm off-break, Slow left-arm orthodox, a rare feat for a bowler, at such an age. This makes him certainly among the rarest of the rare bowlers in world cricket.

A few days back India's Akshay Karnewar, who plays for Vidarbha, showcased the similar skills during a match of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament.

23-year-old Karnewar bowled left-arm spin to right-handed batsmen and right-arm off-break to left-handers in the match. His skills even stunned Baroda cricketers Irfan Pathan and Hardik Pandya.
