Uri attack hurts me, it is 'disturbing': Virat Kohli

Kanpur, Sep 26: Days after he paid an emotional tribute to the martyrs of Uri attack, Team India's Test skipper Virat Kohli has reiterated that the ghastly terror attack hurt him and that such incidents happening from time to time are disturbing.

Kohli was addressing the press conference after India defeated New Zealand in the historic 500th Test by whopping margin of 197 runs.

When asked about the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri sector in which 18 jawans were martyred, Kohli expressed his condolences to the family of the bravehearts who lost their lives in their line of duty.

"As an Indian it hurts to hear these kinds of incidents regularly. What is going on is disturbing and I can imagine what is going through the minds of the families whose sons have died. I can only my condolences to the families of the jawans who suffered in these incidences," Kohli said.

Earlier, Kohli took to micro-blogging site Twitter to pay his tribute to the jawans in the wake of Uri attack.

"This picture fills me with emotions I can't explain. To all the brave hearts, Jai Hind #UriAttack #Kashmir," he tweeted.

Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag also took to Twitter to salute the brave hearts and their family members.

The terror attack at Uri has diminishe fans' hopes of a possible cricket series between India and Pakistan. The BCCI has categorically maintained that there won't be any cricket diplomacy between India and Pakistan until and unless Pakistan stops promoting terrorists on its soil.

India, today, took 1-0 lead against New Zealand in the three-Test series. This win will help the home team inch a step closer towards No. 1 rankings in Test. If India win this series the Kohli-led side will become the No. 1 Test side again and dethrone Pakistan from the top position.
