Bengaluru, July 2: India's Test captain Virat Kohli is that kind of a cricketer who wants to be involved in every aspect of the game. It was not a surprise for many as he took up the big gloves at the preparatory camp here on Friday (July 1).
Kohli turned wicketkeeper during the team's camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium premises.
The skipper took catches with the big gloves in practice and also kept wickets when Cheteshwar Pujara was batting, exhibiting his skills as the man behind the stumps. Also, Kohli appealed for Pujara's wicket as the batsman attempted a pull shot and almost put his foot on the stumps.
It was not the first time that the Delhi right-hander had turned a wicketkeeper. During a One Day International against Bangladesh in Mirpur in June 2015, Kohli took up the big gloves, replacing Mahendra Singh Dhoni. (Reactions to Kohli the keeper)
Dhoni had gone off the field for a short break and Kohli did the job behind the stumps for 6 balls with paceman Umesh Yadav bowling.

Not only wicketkeeping, Kohli has previously bowled in international matches and the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is a brilliant fielder and you can back him to do the job to perfection even behind the stumps.
Kohli and his team-mates are at the NCA preparing for the tour of the Caribbean. India play 4 Tests against the West Indies this month. This will be the first assignment for new head coach Anil Kumble.
