Harbhajan abused Rayudu during the 11th over of the Pune innings when the latter put in a dive to save a boundary hit by Saurabh Tiwary, but failed. Harbhajan was bowling his 2nd over at the time.

Upset with Rayudu's fielding effort, bowler Harbhajan abused him. However, Rayudu was not keen to take that and shot back at the senior spinner. Few words were exchanged.

Both Harbhajan and Rayudu walked briskly towards each other and the former tried to console the Hyderabadi. However, Rayudu was still upset, almost in tears, for the abuse he received despite trying his best and went back to his fielding position at the boundary.

Later they patched up as they celebrated Peter Handscomb's wicket together. MI won the match by 8 wickets.

During the inaugural IPL in 2008, Harbhajan had slapped Kings XI Punjab paceman S Sreesanth.
