Mumbai, Dec 15: India skipper Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma have started sending invitations to their guests for their receptions in New Delhi (on December 21) and Mumbai (December 26).

The wedding festivities at home will be attended by cricketers and Bollywood celebrities.

The couple has sent unique invitation cards for their gala reception party in Mumbai. The invitation card has an environment-friendly message attached to it as it carries a plant sapling in a bid to encourage the guests to go green.

Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt tweeted an image of the invitation card from the couple's side and sent his best wishes to them.

"They made it! Our heartiest congratulations to Anushka & Virat. We pray that this love story goes on forever and ever. Amen !@imVkohli @anushkasharma," tweeted the veteran filmmaker.

This is not the first occasion when the pair has taken such an initiative. In the past as well, they were seen planting trees and doing their bit towards nature.

Kohli tied the knot with his lady love Anushka at a private ceremony in Tuscany, Italy on December 11.

The newly wedded couple took their respective social media handles to confirm the news to their fans after remaining tight-lipped for the last few days.

"Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you.This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well-wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey," wrote the Indian skipper while sharing an adorable image of the Punjabi wedding.

The wedding was attended by close family and a few friends as they wished their wedding to be a very private affair. The wedding was performed as per Hindu rituals.

The couple will be hosting a reception in New Delhi for their relatives on 21st December which will be followed by a reception for industry friends and cricketers in Mumbai on 26th December.
