Virat Kohli has reached an elite milestone in ODI cricket as the maverick completed 14,000 ODI runs on Sunday (February 23) against Pakistan.
Kohli got to the huge milestone as he reached 15 runs in the Pakistan clash in Dubai, thus becoming only the third player to do so.

Apart from Virat Kohli, only Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara have reached the milestone. The legendary Indian batter was the first to breach the 14,000-run barrier in ODIs. Tendulkar's illustrious career spanned from 1989 to 2012, during which he amassed a record 18,426 runs. He reached the 14,000-run milestone on February 6, 2006, in his 350th innings. Sangakkara accumulated 14,234 runs in ODIs between 2000 and 2015. Sangakkara achieved the 14,000-run mark in his 380th match.
Virat Kohli's impending entry into this exclusive club underscores his status as one of the modern era's premier batsmen. Debuting in 2008, Kohli has been the cornerstone of India's batting, renowned for his aggressive style and masterful chases.
The Indian star is also the quickest to reach the milestone as he marked the 14,000 club in his 287th ODI innings. In his career, Kohli has already scored 73 half-centuries and 50 centuries. Tendulkar took 350 innings while the Lanka legend Sangakkara required 378 innings to reach the milestone.
In the match between India and Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan and co. got bundled out for 242 runs. In reply, India lost Rohit Sharma early but both Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill have steadied the ship as they are 88 for 1 at the end of 15 overs.
